Interviewed immediately afterward, Walsh asked if she could say something, then looked straight at the camera and said, "Mr. President, thank you for your inspiration. Thank you for all you do."
And I thought that everyone hated George Bush. That's what the media and the Democrats keep telling me.

How does he inspire anyone? WHAT has he done?
You have to be freakin kiding me... this dweeb is your inspiration? C'mon. Get real. He must have given you more than just a pat on the back.

Brought down Saddam Hussein. Helped create a fledgling democracy in a terrorist infested region that had never known such a wonder. Stood fast and upped the ante when the multitude of his political and media opponents howled for defeat, despair and disaster. Kept America safe from islamist terror since 9/11.
Never stooped as low as his opponents did. Kept his dignity and the dignity of the office intact in the face of unprecedented (as well as unthinking and unconstructive) vituperation.
Well, he's made lefty lunatics howl now for well on eight years or more. That alone puts him as a hero in my book.
Thanks for posting this. I heard Walsh say that and practically fell off the couch. Good for them.
I have criticisms of George Bush, as you may know. But I assure you that no matter which of the two candidates wins this November, we will all look back with envy on how good we had it during the Bush years.
I intend that as a mild compliment to Bush and more so a realistic acknowledgment of the two hopefuls.
Anon - I would reply but I don't think that I could do a better job than Sally, El Gordo, Diggs, or The Tim Man.
I would have to say the President Bush does have some qualities that one could find inspiring. And the job is tough, and anyone who takes it on deserves quite a lot of respect.
However, I would predict that the current administration, as a whole, will go down in history as one of the worst.
I'm not very enthusiastic with the choices for the next administration, but I can't see right now how any different direction could get us in a worse place than we are right now.
