Fitzgibbon's assessment is honest and, unfortunately for America and the world, probably true. Unless something is done soon and the country refocuses on its role in foreign policy.

Australia's Prime Minister sees the end of American pre-eminence in the Pacific
"The biggest changes to our outlook . . . have been the rise of China, the emergence of India and the beginning of the end of the so-called unipolar moment; the almost two-decade-long period in which the pre-eminence of our principal ally, the United States, was without question." -Joel Fitzgibbon in an Australian national defense review.
