This week they published an article as a sort of retraction, basically noting that the IPCC should have extracted their data from a "peer-reviewed journal" citing that "It is not proper for IPCC to include references from popular magazines or newspapers". I suspect that India's bow it is really an attempt to save face, since one of their top-notch glaciologists was scandalized and impugned. I view this as India's attempt to preserve their scientific cachet, thereby improving their political image of independence and self-confidence.
